According to Ferruccio Lamborghini’s son, the Lamborghini came about from his fathers dislike to his Ferrari 250 GT’s clutch. Being the type of man Ferruccio Lamborghini was, he when to see Enzo Ferrari to complain about the clutch. Enzo not so politely told Lamborghini to go off and drive tractors because he was not able to drive cars.

Lamborghini was stunned by Ferrari’s arrogance and set out to fix his clutch. Once the 250 GT’s clutch was dismantled he realised that the clutch manufacturer also made his tractors clutch. With a few part from his factory the problem was solved and Lamborghini promised himself never to own another Ferrari but beat Enzo at his own game and the idea for the Lamborghini sports car was born.
